Unveiling the 3 Million Technical Talent Program
The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program is a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope agenda. It aims to build Nigeria’s technical talent base to fuel our digital economy and establish Nigeria as a hub for exporting talent. This visionary program’s first phase, carried out in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), involves a wide array of stakeholders, including fellows, training providers, partners, and placement organizations.
What to Expect in the First Phase
The initial phase of the 3MTT program follows a fellowship model in partnership with NITDA. Here’s how it works: we identify individuals with a passion for specific technical skills and cover the cost of their training with approved training providers.
Adhering to the Ministry’s 1%-10%-100% implementation approach, the first phase aims to train and place 30,000 technical talents. This number represents 1% of our overarching goal. It operates within a framework collaboratively developed with key stakeholders from government agencies, training providers, educational institutions, development agencies, and the private sector.
