Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, (formerly Rivers State University of Education) is a Nigerian university based in Rumuolumeni, established in 1971.

The university was borne out of a need to provide a solution to the shortage of trained teachers for its rapidly expanding programme of post-primary education after the civil war.

University of Port Harcourt


Uniport is a Federal owned and operated university established in 1975.

The University of Port Harcourt was ranked the sixth in Africa and the first in Nigeria by Times Higher Education (THE) in 2015.
